The Board of Education is seeking your feedback on the proposed budget for the 2026-2027 school year. We hope you will take this opportunity to review the proposed budget, which was presented during the March 16th Budget Study Session #3 and is outlined on our Budget site here. Despite challenges associated with inflation, rising health plan costs, and the state-mandated tax cap, we believe the proposed budget maintains the exceptional educational programs and services that our students deserve and that our community expects while being cognizant of the difficult fiscal realities that many school districts are facing. The proposed budget reflects an increase of 2.92% over the current year's budget and a tax levy increase of 3.37%. The resulting tax levy increases are 2.99% for the Town of Scarsdale and (-4.17%) for the Town of Mamaroneck.

We are looking forward to the parent Zoom on March 24th from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The session will focus on listening to programmatic concerns, answering process questions, outlining our program rationale, and describe next steps toward program improvement. This webinar will include opportunities for parents to ask questions and share input. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday evening.

Applications for a one-year grant from the Scarsdale High School PTA Scholarship Fund for College are now available. The application form and the dean’s evaluation form may be downloaded from the Scarsdale High School PTA website. You can find them linked under the Programs/Committees tab. Our transportation team took delivery of our first EV bus - a type C (large) bus. Our staff is being trained on the vehicle, and we expect to use the bus on several routes throughout the District to give our drivers and students experience with the vehicle. As a reminder, the EV bus was purchased in part with EPA and NYS grant funds. We expect to take delivery of two additional EV buses before the end of the year.

Students from across the district recently represented Scarsdale in the Westchester County School Music Association All-County Band, Chorus, and Orchestra Festivals. These festivals brought together students from across the county to learn music with a guest conducting clinician for two rehearsals in February and March. It culminated in three final concerts, which took place March 7th and 8th at White Plains HS. As we celebrate Music in Our Schools Month, we'd like to recognize our building music teachers in preparing them as well as our participating students!
